What does jewelry mean to you?
Connection. Beauty. Joy. Strength. Magic.
We are launching a new version of Meet the Jewelers at a turning point in world history. 2020. A time like no other when a worldwide pandemic melds with a civil rights movement. The shadows of time have been brought to light, and those shadows are urging that change must happen for humankind to evolve. Some changes are apparent, and some aren’t, and leadership seems more crucial now than ever. These past few months have made us ask ourselves: What’s important to me? What do I stand for? How can I be a part of the change?
A piece of jewelry can seem trivial right now. Or it can be a lifeline, a connection to help you move through the present, hopefully into a brighter future. A ring, pendant, or earrings can remind you of who you love and who loves you, that our relationships support us, and help get us through the toughest times. A piece of jewelry can enliven our days, which seem to blur together, staying mostly at home. An heirloom piece may not be worn but may serve as a talisman in times of prayer or meditation. A graduation gift could honor the student who didn’t get the ceremony they envisioned, propelling them into a world of uncertainty with something that reminds them of their accomplishments. A piece of jewelry can be grounding.
Jewelry has boundless meanings, and that’s something made more clear after speaking with jewelers across the country. When Jason set out to meet the jewelers in 2019, he wanted to share his passion for jewelry and how it connects people by reaching out to jewelers to hear their stories. A recurring theme in his interviews is joy. The joy that jewelry can bring to people. The joy for a jeweler being a part of that joy. It’s an honor, really, to provide a piece of jewelry that becomes a part of someone.
Each jeweler is also involved in their community and gives back in some way. And for most of the jewelers, supporting local charities and organizations isn’t a one-off—it’s an intrinsic, constant business practice to spread that joy.
Connection. Beauty. Joy. Strength. Magic. We hope you discover a jeweler you can trust on Meet the Jewelers. And we hope you find the meaning in today to empower your tomorrow.
