Updated Classics: Statement Rings

The ultimate eye candy

Sometimes all you need is one stone to tell a story. I have several cocktail rings, and they are my go-to for when I really want to razzle-dazzle. Rather than classic cocktail rings with lots of sparkle, the update is statement rings with large hero stones, some with carved detailing, some with diamonds. We love the idea of choosing one with a meaningful stone and wearing it every day, every way, rather than saving it for special occasions. Eye candy this pretty deserves to be seen and heard.

Lollipop

Los Angeles based designer Kirsty Stone of Retrouvaí describes her modern heirloom jewelry as having a “whimsical eccentricity.” Her showstopper Lollipop rings are the embodiment of that statement with vivid colored gems set in hand-carved stones.

Tralis

Self-taught designer Matthew Harris of Mateo has a knack for knowing what jewelry lovers want, with his secret diamond initial rings at the top of everyone’s list. That said, this glorious malachite ring is for someone who doesn’t want to keep their love of bling a secret.

Black Shell

While most may want to do as designer Ippolita does and stack and layer their classic gold jewels, this ring can stand alone, not only for its noticeable size but also its artistic design.

Sophistiquée Princess

Nana Fink created her Sophistiquée collection of rings in New York City with art deco in mind. Its towering hand-carved stone is all you need to be polished for a (future) night on the town or a current date night in.

Lapis

Sophie Buhai focuses on recycled metals for her pieces made by master artisans in Los Angeles. Her surrealism and primitivism influences shine through, including this bold lapis lovely that would naturally adorn anyone with an organic aesthetic.
