Semi-Precious Pendants

Not-so hidden gems

Honestly, who doesn’t love a good pendant? Whether you have a signature style you never take off or a rotating roster of favorites, there’s no denying these pieces play a key role in any well-curated jewelry wardrobe. While designers offer a seemingly endless array of styles, one trend in particular is popping up everywhere this spring, with gemstones taking center stage. Take your pick of crystals, semi-precious, and precious stones, plus cuts that range from raw and organic to finely shaped, honed, and polished.

East West

Before she became an artist and photographer, before she formally studied jewelry design, Sweta Jain grew up in a family of purveyors of precious stones to global jewelry houses. Her experiences and upbringing led her to create Goshwara, a brand centered around gems. Each piece showcases the natural beauty of stones, like this rich amethyst pendant.

Kunzite

Chad Crawford founded Savannah-based 13 Secrets Jewelry Gallery to introduce locals to wearable forms of art from designers around the globe. The gallery also features his own line, Andrew Hamilton Crawford. Equally artistic and covetable, even Vogue is a fan.

Ethiopian Opal

Jenn Breznen is no stranger to the jewelry biz—she studied at the GIA and has worked as a fine jewelry buyer for over a decade. But it was only recently, in 2019, that she started Mined + Found, a jewelry line that takes inspiration from all facets of life, using unique gemstones to create cheerily colorful pieces.

Fancy Love

Milan-based designer Monica Galletto created her company, Monica G., after a successful career in luxury fashion. It only took her one visit to Jaipur, the Pink City, to fall in love with every facet of its culture. Monica melded her own Italian roots with Indian traditions to establish a brand centered around symbolism and gemstones—all with the appropriate tagline, “I love my Jaipur.”

Cynthia Rowley is a ready-to-wear fashion designer beloved for her “pretty-meets-sporty” signature aesthetic. Her playful printed dresses and neoprene swimwear are always at the top of the fashion world’s “must-have” lists. Of course, those cheerful ensembles need some equally cheerful accessories, including jewelry with vibrant stones.
