Organize your jewelry like a jeweler

I appreciated the art of jewelry display more after working in an Alexis Bittar store. From fixtures to glass to presentation, I’d never really noticed how much a beautiful display helps to showcase shiny goods in the most enticing way. Until then, I’d kept all my jewelry in a jewelry box, but after working in a jewelry store, I learned how to better store my everyday pieces in ring holders, trays, and small bowls.

Now I display my jewelry in various boxes and holders atop a dresser—it’s like my mini jewelry museum I admire and rearrange on a whim. I keep my everyday jewelry in a couple trays in my bathroom for quick styling. Plus, my cute rainbow tray my best friend gave me makes me smile (read: these make great gifts).

Metal Crystal

Austin jewelry designer Kendra Scott knows how to brighten people’s days with her colorful designs and philanthropic namesake brand. An ode to crystal clusters, this superior ring holder comes in various metal colors.

Porcelain Jar

Lauren Wolf first opened Esqueleto in 2011 in Oakland, CA, and now has four retail stores. A jewelry designer herself, Wolf's retail empire hosts handcrafted jewelry brands alongside artwork and home pieces by artists from around the world, including this hand-decorated jar by the craftsmen of Servín Cerámica in La Purisima, Mexico.

Trigem

Five minutes, gone—Shopbop’s @Home collection is just as time-sucking as browsing their fashion selection. Necklaces tend to tangle or be forgotten in a jewelry box and this architectural tiered necklace stand will hold various lengths between wears (and there’s a lot more where it came from).

Little Bird

Sisters Margiangela and Titti Negroni worked in the design and fashion world for years before opening their store, Funky Table, in Milan. A true shopping destination, the store name says it all, and this mini plate with a Romanian and naïf folk art-inspired illustration calls for folksy gems.

Celestial Pod

Michele Varian is a favorite shop in New York for fashion editors and interior designers. Varian is a designer (and entrepreneur, buyer, and curator) whose shop is home to her collections (including jewelry) and 100+ designers' goods. This modern and surprisingly versatile porcelain bowl is awe-inspiring.

Velvet Box

It would be nice to have Sophie Bille Brahe jewelry inside this plush box, but any piece would get cozy in here. It comes in a variety of vivid colors and doubles as a decorative vanity piece.
