Iridescent stones + three days = magic

Labradorite has a darker iridescent base than opals and moonstones that reflects and plays with color—think mermaids. A stone of transformation, the grayish stone glimmers peacock blue, yellow, green, sometimes red. More rare is yellow labradorite, an excellent stone for meditation as it tunes into higher consciousness.

I have a beaded labradorite bracelet I wear every summer that reminds me of the calming vibrations of water. Fitting then that labradorite calms an overactive mind and energizes the imagination. Bring on the daydreams.

Earth Day tip #3: eat more plants. Eating two plant-based meals a day cuts your food-related carbon emissions by 50%. And I’m not talking about replacing beef with Impossible Burgers because their production causes high amounts of emissions. I mean simple, organic plants. This should be easier with spring and summer vegetables aplenty, and here’s a primer if you don’t think you can live without meat or dairy. There are numerous health benefits to eating more plants, so win-win. Peruse these labradorite pieces with a pretty tofu scramble side.

Candy

Dharmesh & Namrata Kothari of Syna work together to create colorful heirlooms that radiate positive energy. Intricate details, like a bezel-set champagne diamond flanking a cabochon labradorite, set their pieces apart.

Cascade

If there were ever a designer who married organic with luxury, it would be Lori Friedman of Loriann. She transitioned her creativity from graphic design and watercolor painting seamlessly into jewelry inspired by many things, including nature’s beautiful irregularities like these cascading labradorite stones.

Lab Point

Jennie Kwon Designs is a small operation of women in LA with designer Jennie Kwon at the helm. They focus on the craftsmanship of delicate treasures made with fair mined gold and ethically sourced stones. Their rings stand out, and this almost industrial square labradorite ring outshines alone or stacked.

Estelle

Aletheia & Phos translates to “truth & light” in Greek, and that’s the focus of Alicia Millan’s brand out of Melbourne, Australia. After working in the fashion industry, the crystal-obsessed designer began making bracelets to satisfy her creativity cravings and eventually turned the hobby into jewelry with sentiment and intention at its core.

14k gold plated and labradorite “Estelle” necklace, $224 at Aletheia & Phos
