Cuff Love

This season, bracelets go bold

Good news for fans of big, bold bracelets—there’s no lack on offer this season. The Spring/Summer ’22 runways were filled with cuffs that scream ‘80s (think geometric statement pieces) and ‘90s (slinky metallic minimalism), but even if you’re not into taking a nostalgia trip, you’ll find styles to suit your aesthetic among the over-the-top silver and multi-toned gold options on offer. (Pro tip: Try these styles on for size from wrists to biceps—there’s no wrong way to wear a cuff!).

Meryl

Giulia Tordini comes from a family full of fashion. Her father runs a showroom in Milan, and her sister co-founded chic clothing brand The Attico. Her own vestiary venture, a jewelry line called Leda Madera, is all about the details, with an inaugural collection inspired by the cult-classic flick Death Becomes Her. Playing on her key motif of pleating, the “Meryl” cuff has “both force and sinuosity in its shape.”

Chain

Leave it up to Balmain (a label that’s dressed bigtime names from Brigitte Bardot to Kim Kardashian) to lead the charge in statement-scale jewels. This bracelet sports a chunky chain (a signature of the brand) and will elevate any ensemble, whether it’s paired with a simple white t-shirt or a sharp blazer (Balmain makes iconic versions of those, too).

Orbit

Alexis Bittar started his eponymous brand at the tender age of 22 (back in 1990), with his signature lucite styles. From humble beginnings hawking his wares on New York City’s streets, he’s since collaborated with everyone from Burberry to style-legend Patricia Fields. In 2021 he relaunched with a more inclusive focus, offering unique lifestyle designs including accessories, home décor, and of course, jewelry.

Patina

Boulder-based Todd Reed creates one-of-a-kind, expertly-handcrafted jewelry. Everything is ethically sourced (including conflict-free stones) and made using modern metalsmithing techniques. His creations are luxuriously modern works of wearable art, like this mesmerizing number.

Aruba

Licia Mattioli is the charismatic designer behind Italian jewelry brand Mattioli. Their signature style can be described as “Italian elegance,” with an array of best-sellers like the modern essentials in the rose-gold “Aruba” collection.

Armlet

Founded in 2013, Her Story is a luxury jewelry brand “inspired by an American Feminist Perspective “Herstory” which first appeared in 1960s, emphasizing the role of women.” The handcrafted jewels are made of 14k gold and diamonds with a modern elegance with “masculine-feminine style” that shines through each design, just like this gilded armlet.

Rivage

If you are a fan of refined decor, you already know the name Christofle. The French brand (which dates back to 1830) is known for its objets, handmade with the “trades of spinning, embossing, carving, and engraving.” Those skills go beyond a stunning tablescape—Christofle’s statement sterling-silver jewelry also stands out in the best way.
