Your endless summer lover

Coral remains one of the most sought-after natural substances on earth. It has been the centerpiece of jewels for decades, from Victorian cameos to Art Deco beads. There are many different types and colors of coral. “Precious Noble Coral” is one of the most popular because it can be carved and polished. “Oxblood” (deep red) and “Angel Skin” (light pink) are the most prevalent colors. However, rare pieces come in blue, purple, and even a striped yellow called “Tiger Sponge Coral.”

Coral’s endangered status has changed how designers choose coral, many repurposing vintage pieces in oceanic or floral themes. Here are some cool coral pieces to keep summer vibes strong year-round.

Sardinian Coral

By way of Morocco, Indonesia, and Paris, designer Yasmina Benazou created New York-based Haute Victoire. Her style is best described as “a conversation between the old and the new,” with antique finds and natural elements combined with 18k gold forming handmade wearable art.

Vintage Coral

Designer Guita Montinger’s design philosophy “favors simplicity and elegance,” creating unique statement pieces by combining her love of exploration and colorful gems. These opal and coral drop earrings are the ideal example.

Nature

Designers Ole and Charlotte Lynggaard are at the helm of Copenhagen-based Ole Lynggaard, working with a team of 45 goldsmiths crafting elegantly organic jewels. Nature is often a theme with flora and fauna motifs presented in their signature satin gold, like this lush coral accented bracelet.

Koi Fish

Seaman Schepps has been an American staple for generations of jewelry lovers since 1904 (Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis and Andy Warhol were fans). In their salon-style NYC store, you’ll find their signature styles—turbo shell earrings and wooden link bracelets—alongside showstopper pieces, like this lavish brooch.

Coral Branch

Since Pamela Love launched her brand in 2007 in Brooklyn, NY, her jewels have centered around storytelling. Whether celestial, spiritual, or terrestrial, her pieces are deep-rooted in themes. This branch huggie is small, but mighty cool.

Pompeii

Renato Cipullo comes from a family of jewelers (his brother, Aldo, created the iconic Cartier Love Bracelet). His daughter, Serena, works with him to introduce signature themes and inspiration—nature, romance, antiquity, and the Renaissance, all with an Italian twist.
