Trice Jewelers
In their own words
“We try to have the coolest shopping experience. We have three different CAD designers, and if you can’t find a piece of jewelry in our selection, we’ll make it for you. We can sit down with one of our jewelers and make what you want. We have big screens, and design in a three-dimensional CAD, print the models, and cast it all right here. Everything is done under one roof. It’s a fun way to shop for jewelry.”

Jason’s Interview with Justin
Jason
We're back on Meet the Jewelers and today we're talking to Justin from Trice Jewelers. Tell us about Centennial. You guys are pretty close to Denver. What sets you guys apart there?
Justin
We are. The building that sets us apart from Denver is one street. We're in the Denver Metropolitan area.
Jason
Tell us the history of the store.
Justin
I'm second-generation. I grew up in the industry. Trice has been in business since 1948. We opened another location about nine years ago. We've got twelve full-time bench jewelers on-site and we love trying to make the coolest shopping experience. You can buy a nice piece of jewelry at a lot of stores, but we want to have a cool experience where our customers become our friends, and we become a part of their family legacy.

Jason
What is the experience like from the outside coming in?
Justin
We want to create a feeling that is fun. We've got three different CAD designers and if you can't find a piece that you're looking for in our selection, we'll make it for you. We can sit down with one of our jewelers on site and say, "What would you like?" We have big screens and can design it in three-dimensional CAD, print the models, and cast it all right here at Trice. Everything is done under one roof. We want it to be a really fun place where you can create something really special, or pick something out that we've curated and collected from all over the world. We want to make it part of people's lives.
Jason
Can you tell us about any of the brands or special pieces that you're carrying?
Justin
Bridal is our strength, but it's not everything that we do. We've got watches and high-end jewelry, but our strength is in bridal. Some of our brands that we really love are Jack Kelege, Simon G., Fana Creations, and Gabriel. We have a great connection with a lot of our designers. We feel really close to them.
Jason
Tell us a fun proposal story that you're a part of.
Justin
Did a big ring for a gentleman. I delivered it to him in Louisville, Kentucky. He picked up the ring and I said, "Well, good to meet you." He said, "Well, don't go. I'm going to propose tonight and I want you to ask for me." and I thought, "Oh my gosh, we've only known each other for about three minutes, but that sounds fine."
He went walking down through downtown Louisville, went to a restaurant—there wasn't a soul in the restaurant. He rented the whole restaurant out. He said, "When my fiancé comes, we'll sit down for a little bit, and then when she asks you who you are, you say that you are a headhunter and you want to hire me to run your company. And when she says what company is that, you say ‘To be your husband for the rest of your life." So she comes into this completely vacant restaurant, they sit down, and they start talking. She said, "Who's your friend?" I introduced myself and said that he wants to be your husband for the rest of your life, that's a new job, and she said "Yes." It was amazing, the ring was incredible. And then I said, "Well, I think I'll just excuse myself. I feel like a third wheel." And they said, "Oh, no, you sit your butt down country boy, you're not going anywhere." And they bring out that group. Boyz II Men, I think it was. They serenade them for three or four hours. All of a sudden, they bring all their friends, they were in the kitchen hiding, and then they just pack this restaurant within seconds—all their friends and family, and Boyz II Men singing. It was an incredible proposal.
Jason
What gives you inspiration and strength, not only just being a jewelry store, but growing and making a difference for everybody around the area?
Justin
I find a lot of strength when I walk into events and people come to me, they're like, "Oh my gosh my ring. Look at this bracelet, these earrings. My husband bought this for me, my boyfriend bought this for me." And their kids now are coming in and getting married. It's really cool to see how much jewelry is a part of everybody's special and fun occasions in life.
Jason
You do a lot for the community. Tell us about some of the key initiatives you're doing this year.
Justin
Every year, I put together a catalog and we use our good customers as models in this catalog. This year, we had every model tell us about a charity or nonprofit organization that's dear to them. We give them a little bit of a shout-out, everything from the Children's Diabetes Foundation, The Cancer League of Colorado, National Center for Disabled Athletes, Craig Hospital, Swim Across America, Global Down Syndrome, Denver Rescue Mission, Denver Center for Performing Arts. Forty-five different charities that we highlighted through our magazine. Really focusing on not just the jewelry, but what else people are giving back to the community and how we're growing our community.
Jason
This is your platform to talk to Meet the Jewelers on why they should come and visit your store.
Justin
We're gonna create a piece of jewelry that's going to last with you through every moment in life and we're gonna make it top quality. We want to be part of everybody's life. We're part of all the great moments in life. That's really important to us.
