Steven Singer Jewelers

PHILADELPHIA, PA

The most fun you’ll ever have buying a diamond in Philadelphia.

When Steven Singer was in high school, he sold wholesale jewelry on Philadelphia’s Jewelers Row.

His interest led him to completing courses in diamond residency, color stones, gem identification, and cultured pearls at the Gemological Institute of America (GIA). In 1980, when Steven was 22-years-old, he opened Steven Singer Jewelers on Jewelers Row—he was the youngest first-generation jeweler in the oldest jewelry district in the US.

In the following decades, Steven focused his company on diamonds, diamond jewelry, and precious metals. He created customer-friendly repair, replacement, remake, and refund policies. In 1999, he moved into his current full-service jewelry store replete with a master jeweler, diamond setter, wax maker, designer, and polisher—and glass wall where customers can watch their jewelry being made.

I Hate Steven Singer

Once upon a time, Steven sold a diamond engagement ring to a man whose girlfriend said “yes.” The man bought his wife another Steven Singer Jewelers diamond ring to celebrate their 20th anniversary decades later. Nine months after that, the couple entered the store to show Steven their new baby. The wife said, “I love Steven Singer!” Then the husband said, “Here we go again. We’re up all night with feedings and diaper changes. I hate Steven Singer!” That’s why men hate Steven Singer, and women love him.

Steven does things differently. His radio debut was advertising on the Howard Stern Show two decades ago. Now he’s a regular on Philly’s 94WIP Morning Show with Angelo Cataldi. Steven is also a sponsor of WIP’s annual Wing Bowl event, one of the largest eating competitions in the US.

Steven is a pet lover and his dog, Buddy, has his own Instagram @buddythejeweler. Steven gives 20% of the proceeds from his Sweet Love for Pets jewelry items to the Philadelphia Animal Welfare Society (PAWS), a non-profit animal welfare shelter. Can you feel the love?

Fast-talking and fast-driving, in 2011, Steven signed on as a marketing partner with JD Motorsports in the NASCAR Nationwide Series. The #01 “I Hate Steven Singer” Chevrolet driven by Mike Wallace competed in NASCAR Nationwide Series events at Dover, Kansas, Charlotte, Phoenix, and Homestead.

In the 45 years he’s been in the jewelry business, Steven has earned himself a reputation as the most amusing jeweler in The City of Brotherly Love.

Case in point: every year, Steven and sports radio personality, Angelo Cataldi, broadcast the World’s Largest Bubble Bath live from Steven’s store. Over 50 couples have gotten engaged, and about ten couples have been married in the bubbles over the years.

STEVEN SINGER JEWELRY GIVES BACK

“We sell 9/11 pins for $10 and we donate the money to 9/11 charities. We work with a charity called Little Smiles that's for kids with cancer. It's very rewarding and we do that every year. We have an Instagram for my own personal pet, Buddy the Jeweler, and we're giving 20% from sales of our Sweet Love for Pets category to PAWS, an animal welfare shelter.”
