Cachet Fine Jewelry

In their own words

“We’re a small family business. We want to create a homey feel, so people don’t feel like they’re in some fancy store but more like they’re at a friend’s house stopping for jewelry.”

-Cameron Banissi

Jason’s Interview with Cameron

Jason

We're back on Meet the Jewelers and today we're talking to Cameron from Cachet Fine Jewelry. How'd you get into the business?

Cameron

This business is older than I am. My father started thirty years ago, back in 1988. He was a first-generation jeweler and built up the company to where we are today. I got started in this business because my family needed my help. They didn't have anyone young in the business to kind of modernize and get it up to date. I started working here when I was fourteen years old. I was kind of thrown in there and I just hit the ground running.

Jason
What does it feel like when you come to work?

Cameron
Well, now this is my store and I'm proud of this. My father put so much effort and time into building up to where we are today and I'm proud of what he does. I'm proud of what we sell. We have a lot of passion for our quality and for our customer service.

Jason
What are you doing that you're most passionate about?

Cameron
As an outsider, I saw some areas that we could improve on and grow. I kept what my father was doing, offering the high-quality merchandise and unmatched customer service. We bend over backward for our clients. We know them on a first-name basis. But something that we could improve upon was the technology side of the business, getting a website up and running, adding CRM software to organize it. Recently, I've been focusing a lot on photography because we all know social media is so huge now.

Jason
Are there any great customer celebrity stories you can share?

Cameron
We've worked with a lot of executives and a couple of professional ballplayers. One of them is Chipper Jones. He was an all-star third baseman for the Atlanta Braves for about two decades, and he's kind of a household name here in Atlanta. He's one of our biggest celebrity clients. We also have a couple of NBA clients.

Jason
I know you do so much for the community. What are some big ones that are top of mind cause wise, charity wise?

Cameron
We've done a couple of charity donations in the past, one of them was the Big Brother Big Sister Foundation. We donated a piece of jewelry that they auctioned off and all of the proceeds went to the Foundation. We try to be involved as much as we can. Having two jewelry stores and no employees, our time is very limited. I would love to do a little bit more in the future.

Jason
Why do you think people should trust you as their jeweler?

Cameron
I think it's our reputation and also the fact that we're a small family business. We really wanted to create a homey feel so that people don't feel like they're in some fancy pinewood store but more like a friend's house. Our reputation is everything, so we would never do anything to jeopardize that.

Jason
Everybody in Atlanta, as you're thinking of who you should work with for engagement rings or other gifts, give Cachet a try.
